ALBA-TCP condemns US veto of UN Gaza ceasefire resolution

The ten member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) have issued a joint statement condemning the U.S. veto of UN Gaza ceasefire resolution:

The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) express their strongest condemnation of the unilateralism imposed by the United States in the United Nations Security Council, by vetoing for the fourth time, this November 20, 2024, a draft resolution, supported by all the other members of that body, demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and unrestricted access of humanitarian aid for the Palestinian population in that illegally occupied territory.

This action reveals, once again, the ongoing complicity of the Government of Washington with Israel, the Occupying Power, allowing it to perpetrate its war crimes with total impunity, the continuity of the genocide and the humanitarian catastrophe underway; as well as the imminent famine to which the brotherly Palestinian people are exposed, if the massacre against the innocent population in Gaza is not stopped.

ALBA-TCP rejects the lack of action by the Security Council to stop the aggressions and flagrant violations of the United Nations Charter, International Law and International Humanitarian Law that are taking place in Gaza and other illegally occupied Palestinian territories.

The Bolivarian Alliance reiterates its call to the international community to take decisive action, without further delay, to put a definitive stop to the bloody attacks and genocide against Palestine and all peoples affected by the escalation of war.
