Continuing to work for the "strategic value" that is the unity of leftist forces in Latin America and the Caribbean was one of the consensuses reached by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and Jorge Alberto Kreyness, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Argentina.
The party leaders held a meeting Monday afternoon (March 17) at the Palace of the Revolution. Díaz-Canel emphasized the need to strengthen an increasingly necessary unity; "A unity," Kreyness agreed, "both at the broad level, at the Latin American level, and in each country."

The Argentinian leader reaffirmed the commitment and solidarity of Argentine communists with the Cuban Revolution, although, he said, they must work harder on this, not only at the political level, but also through cooperation, as, for example, in the food sector, where they have diverse experiences, such as in the use of food preservation technologies.
"Thank you for taking this time with us, knowing the 'little tasks' you have ahead of you," said Kreyness upon meeting Díaz-Canel in the portico of one of the halls of the Palace of the Revolution. "Havana and Buenos Aires are still in the same place, but sometimes the journey is longer, and other times, shorter," he noted at the beginning of a conversation where the affection went beyond the familiar form of address.

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba expressed his joy at the visit of his Argentine colleague, which he said will also serve to strengthen inter-party ties and enhance an historic friendship.
Díaz-Canel conveyed to the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Argentina the solidarity of the Cuban people in the face of the difficult situation the Argentine people are experiencing.
Kreyness also reiterated the value they place on maintaining fraternal relations with the Cuban Revolution, the Bolivarian Revolution, and the Nicaraguan Revolution.

The leader of the Argentinian party is in Cuba, among other reasons, to participate in the Patria Colloquium, and was accompanied at the meeting with Díaz-Canel by Ariel Elger, secretary of the Communist Party in the province of Buenos Aires.
Participating on the Cuban side were Emilio Lozada García, head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee, and Juan Carlos Frómeta, an official from that department.
