The president of the German Communist Party (DKP), Patrik Köbele, is visiting Cuba for the fourth time and as part of his agenda he was received by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the meeting, which was used by Morales Ojeda to thank the DKP for its solidarity with the Cuban people, the Party and the Cuban Revolution. He also conveyed an affectionate greeting from the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

Meanwhile, Köbele praised Cuba's struggle against the U.S. blockade, which he described as anti-imperialist. "The German communists thank you for that," he said and then reaffirmed the indestructible solidarity between the two parties.

After the meeting, the political leaders signed an Exchange and Cooperation Agreement between the parties in areas of mutual interest such as political, ideological and cadre training, as well as work in social networks and exchanges between social and mass organizations, with emphasis on youth, trade unions and women's organizations.

Speaking to the press, the president of the DKP expressed confidence in the intensification of relations between the parties. "This is a collaboration that dates back many years and it is a collaboration, above all, in the struggle against imperialist forces and one that must serve the progress of the world," he emphasized.

On the German side, member of the Central Committee and the International Department of the DKP, Petra Wegner, also participated, while Morales Ojeda was accompanied by member of the Central Committee of the PCC and head of its Department of International Relations, Emilio Lozada García and other officials.

During its stay in Cuba, the DKP delegation will hold important working meetings and visit places of historical, scientific and cultural interest.
