Member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales Ojeda, on Tuesday, October 22, received Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau, the Secretariat of the Central Committee and head of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the PCC, who heads a delegation from the Asian country that is on an official visit until October 24.

"Like a brother, I welcome him," Morales Ojeda said.

His visit takes place at a very sensitive time for the country, in which the recovery process after the passage of Hurricane Oscar through eastern Cuba is beginning.

"Unfortunately, this phenomenon has left behind it the loss of human lives and the destruction of infrastructure and part of the housing fund," continued Morales Ojeda, who also noted that after 2 p.m. on Tuesday the National Electric System was restored, although not with all the full robustness required.

This visit of the CCP to Cuba, the highest-level visit received there so far this year, shows the excellent state of relations between the two Parties, characterized by their common interest in advancing the implementation of the consensus reached between the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

"We appreciate that his presence in Havana will contribute to expanding and strengthening the work strategy in the short, medium and long term, both in economic cooperation as well as in political relations," Morales Ojeda emphasized.

During the exchange, it was stated that the VI Theoretical Seminar between the PCC and the CCP will be held on Wednesday, whose central theme is "Promoting the cause of the construction of socialism and building the community of the shared future", a meeting of great importance for progress on issues of common interest.

Morales Ojeda also thanked the firm support of China in denouncing and rejecting the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States and the unjust inclusion of Cuba in the spurious list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Similarly, the Cuban leader reiterated the historic and unwavering support of the PCC for the principle of a single China. In turn, he pledged the most resolute opposition to the attempts to interfere in the affairs of that country by the United States and some of its allies.

The delegations of both countries were also made up of members of the Central Committees of the respective Parties and other officials of these organizations.
