Communist Party of Cuba and Workers' Party of Brazil sign an Exchange and Cooperation Agreement

The agreement will contribute to strengthening relations between the PCC and the PT in several areas, such as the training of cadres, the coordination of international party and leftist forums, like the Sao Paulo Forum, as well as exchanges on regional and international news.

The member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee (CC) of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales Ojeda, received Gleisi Hoffmann, president of the Workers' Party of Brazil (PT), on Thursday afternoon.


During the meeting, the party leaders signed an Exchange and Cooperation Agreement between the two organizations.


By signing this document, the Communist Party of Cuba and the Workers' Party of Brazil institutionalize their relations and ratify the good state of inter-party ties.


The agreement will contribute to strengthening relations between the PCC and the PT in several areas, such as the training of cadres, the coordination of international party and leftist forums, like the Sao Paulo Forum, as well as exchanges on regional and international news.


The ceremony was attended by Emilio Lozada García, head of the Department of International Relations of the CC PCC, and other officials of that department. On the Brazilian side, Lindbergh Farias, federal deputy of the PT, also attended.


"The struggle of the Cuban people has always been a reference for us, of resistance and struggle," said the president of the PT in a press interview..


Hoffmann stated that her visit is also a sign of his country's solidarity with Cuba and conveyed her gratitude to the Cuban people, their Party and their government for their support for the struggles of the Brazilian people.


She stressed the importance of having the work experience of the Communist Party of Cuba and reiterated that the PT is always willing to help the Cuban people, especially at this time when the blockade continues to intensify.
