Cuba and China outline strategies to strengthen bilateral relations

Each meeting with a Chinese delegation is an opportunity to evaluate how much more can be done in the political, economic and commercial spheres, said Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) when receiving the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCP) and deputy executive director of its Office of Economic and Financial Affairs, Han Wenxiu June 24.


The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the PCC, was conducive to dialogue on the consensus reached by the First Secretary and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and the General Secretary of the CCP and President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.




Morales Ojeda thanked the leader for his visit and ratified the unrestricted support of the Party and the Cuban people for the principle of a single China. He also recognized the Asian nation's constant condemnation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade to which Cuba is subjected and its inclusion in the spurious list of states that sponsor terrorism, which has nothing to do with the principles of the Cuban Party and State, he said.


The parties agreed on the advantage of advancing in the construction of the community of shared futures between the two nations, essential to deepen bilateral relations.


For his part, Han Wenxiu expressed his satisfaction with the reception and highlighted the relations of friendship and exchange that have historically prevailed between the two political forces.


As part of its program, the delegation of the Asian giant previously met with heads of several departments of the Central Committee and visited the Mariel Special Development Zone. In a summary assessment, the Chinese leader said: "We have fulfilled the objectives of the visit."



On the Cuban side, other members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee also participated, as well as heads and deputy heads of departments and officials of the party.
