On September 11, 1942, the patriotic women of Tirana, led by the Communist Party, held a big demonstration in front of the Tirana prison demanding the release of the sons and daughters of the people, imprisoned by the fascist invaders. The fascists opened fire on thr demonstrators killing Mine Peza who was celebrated as a hero inthe People's Republic of Albania for her sacrifice.
