Fidel Castro addresses the 3rd congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, 1986
-- Daily LIFT #297
"The Communist Party of Cuba is the legitimate heir to the patriotic and cultural tradition of the Cuban political vanguard.
In the same way that Martí founded the Cuban Revolutionary Party in April 1892 to prepare and direct the war without which Cuba would not achieve full independence; and Baliño and Mella founded the first Communist Party of Cuba in 1925 to fight against the capitalist system and all its ills, Fidel founded the Communist Party of Cuba to carry out the Revolution and the construction of socialism...
...The constitution of the Central Committee signified, as Fidel pointed out, one of the most momentous steps in the history of Cuba, the moment when the unifying forces were superior to the dispersing and dividing forces, when the revolutionary people united closely, in that the collective spirit triumphed over all individualisms, reaching the highest degree of union and organization with the most modern, the most scientific, as well as the most revolutionary and humane of political conceptions." - Elvis R. Rodríguez Rodríguez, Granma, October 3, 2020 , translated from the Spanish.
October 3, 2020 was the 55th anniversary of the formation of the Communist Party of Cuba.
