With a warm greeting, at the foot of the stairs of the plane, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales Ojeda, received To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of Vietnam, who is on a state visit to Cuba until September 27.

In Terminal 1 of the José Martí International Airport, Morales Ojeda and To Lam talked about various topics.

Diplomatic relations between Cuba and Vietnam, established on December 2, 1960, have been consolidated over the years, becoming a benchmark of friendship and solidarity in all areas.

A crucial moment was the visit of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro to Vietnam in 1973, a symbol of the brotherhood between the two nations. So was the establishment of a Committee of Solidarity with South Vietnam, in September 1963, chaired by the heroine Melba Hernández.

The common aspiration to build Socialism has motivated the constant exchange of experiences between the two nations. Vietnam and Cuba have in common their approaches on various issues on the international agenda, the upholding of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

To Lam will complete an extensive agenda during his stay in the country.
