Both the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and Communist Party of Spain (PCE) are strongly condemning the decision of the incoming Trump administration to rescind the long overdue and hypocritical decision of the outgoing Biden administration to finally remove Cuba from the arbitrary and spurious US "state sponsors of terrorism" list.
The second Trump administration in the USA, in a shameful action on its very first day in office, has reinstated Cuba on the list of “state sponsors of terrorism”. Equally responsible is the Biden administration which, after keeping Cuba on the list for four years, after maintaining and reinforcing all the measures of the barbaric imperialist blockade, decided hypocritically at the tail end of its term to remove Cuba from the list.
The Communist Party of Greece unequivocally condemns the decision of the Trump administration and expresses its solidarity with the Cuban people and the Communist Party of Cuba. It will intensify its struggle for the removal of Cuba from the list of “states sponsors of terrorism” and for the lifting of all measures of the imperialist blockade against the Island of the Revolution.
CP of Spain, We condemn Trump's reinstatement of Cuba's inclusion on the infamous list of state sponsors of terrorism (translated from the Spanish)
In his first hours as U.S. president, Donald Trump has reversed Biden's decision to remove Cuba from the infamous list of state sponsors of terrorism.
As the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, has pointed out, it is an act of arrogance that once again demonstrates the political nature of the "list" by using it again to exert pressure.
There is no reason for Cuba, which has supported and supports peace and justice processes throughout the region, to be on that list, when it is also the Cuban people who have been victims for decades of terrorism carried out by U.S. imperialism with the imposition of the criminal blockade against the island.
Once again, the Communist Party of Spain denounces the U.S. policy against Cuba which is cruel and inhumane and violates the main purposes of the UN Charter and International Law. In addition to reinstating Cuba on the "list," Trump has announced that he will withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement on emissions, and the country's exit from the World Health Organization (WHO), among other measures.
The PCE denounces the fact that with these measures, Trump is demonstrating a clear imperialist attitude that seeks to undermine the transition to a multipolar world and international coexistence.
For all these reasons, the PCE reiterates the demand for the removal of Cuba again from the infamous list of so-called "countries that promote terrorism", the lifting of the criminal blockade and the end of all unilateral coercive measures
The PCE reaffirms its strongest solidarity and support for the Cuban people and government, the Communist Party of Cuba and its First Secretary and President of the Republic, comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Now more than ever, Homeland or death, we will win!
