Izvestia had become, by the fall of 1917, the newspaper of the Central Executive Committee of the Petrograd Soviet of Workers' and Soldiers' Deputies. The paper was pro-Bolshevik and against the war. Here it is being sent to various units at the front via Bolshevik supporters in the army.
