Nicaragua severs diplomatic ties with Israel

Nicaragua has decided to sever all diplomatic ties with Israel. The move was announced by Nicaragua’s Vice President Rosario Murillo, who condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza and Lebanon, calling the Israeli government “fascist” and "genocidal". This decision aligns Nicaragua with other Latin American countries that have done the same such as Chile, Bolivia and Colombia.

The decision came after a declaration adopted by the National Assembly of Nicaragua on October 11 calling for the move.

A government statement regarding the move said: "We condemn once again this Genocide, the Occupation and the permanent aggression against the Life and Dignity of the People of Palestine, which is now expanding against the People of Lebanon, and seriously threatening Syria, Yemen and Iran, endangering the Peace and Security of the Region and the World."
