Thursday afternoon (May 30), Emilio Lozada García, head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), held a fraternal meeting with diplomatic representatives of a dozen African countries.
The party leader conveyed to those present the congratulations of the Central Committee of the PCC for the 61st anniversary of the founding of the African Union and thanked the parties and peoples of the continent for their solidarity with Cuba and their permanent condemnation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.
In the exchange, Lozada García reiterated the PCC's willingness to strengthen the historic relations that unite the Communist Party of Cuba with the parties of that sister continent, an idea shared by the diplomats present.
Cuba and Africa are united by historical and cultural ties, strengthened in the common struggle against colonialism, racism and imperialism, for the defense of the independence of our peoples and for their economic and social development, said Lozada García.
