With a gala full of surprises, music and dance, the XIX edition of the International Congress Pedagogy 2025 ended this Thursday at the Palacio de las Convencios in Havana, after intense days of debates that, since it began Monday, February 10 promoted the unity of the world's teachers in order to achieve inclusive and sustainable educational systems.

Once again, the children of the La Colmenita company impressed with their excellent performance, singing to the educators, to the Homeland and to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

The gala was an excellent place to to recognize the work done by the Brazilian Frei Betto who the Minister of Education of the Republic of Cuba, Naima Trujillo. presented with the distinction "For Cuban Education".

Minutes earlier, the Brazilian theologian had offered a special lecture on the challenges of educating in times of reconstruction and resistance, where he warned about the danger of digital social networks and the need to model them to aid in the creation of ethical people.

"From the classrooms we must get children and adolescents used to valuing their personal relationships. The cell phone cannot be their only contact, as it represents bad teaching. The school must ask itself: are we creating consumers or citizens?" said Betto.

In addition, he pointed to Cuba as an example of a citizen oriented and revolutionary education.

"We have to rebuild society with pedagogies that open seams in the system of domination and oppression. Cuba knows that education allows citizens to be provided with critical and participatory awareness."

Likewise, five Cuban pedagogues were recognized with the distinction "Best Teacher Researcher".

The head of the Department of Attention to the Social Sector of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Deputy Prime Ministers Inés María Chapman Waugh and Eduardo Martínez Díaz, as well as other members of the government and the Party, were present at the closing of Pedagogy 2025.

This event, which is held biannually, brought together a hundred Cuban delegates and delegates from 32 invited countries. It was focused on the unity of educators and on the creation of the critical citizen, identifying with their nation and with the preservation of peace. In addition, the duty to uphold Martí's conviction of an education "with all and for the good of all" was embraced.
