Raúl Castro and To Lam in Havana

The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, on Friday morning received the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam and president of that sister nation, comrade To Lam, who is on a state visit to Cuba.


Both sides referred to the historic ties of friendship and the excellent state of relations between the two peoples, parties and governments, while ratifying the common will to strengthen them.


Raul stressed the importance of Vietnam's effective participation in Cuba's National Economic and Social Development Plan until 2030.


On the Vietnamese side were comrades Nguyen Hoa Binh, member of the Political Bureau and First Deputy Prime Minister; Le Hoai Trung, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, head of the Foreign Affairs Commission, and Bui Thanh Son, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs.


On the Cuban side, the members of the Political Bureau, Army Corps General Álvaro López Miera, Minister of the FAR, and Major General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, Minister of the Interior, as well as comrade Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, were present.
