Statement:
Sudanese Communist Party, Secretariat of the Central Committee
Press Statement:
On the evening of Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at around 1:00 AM, the home of comrade Mohiuddin Al-Jallad, a member of the Central Committee of the Sudanese Communist Party, was targeted by individuals wearing Rapid Support Forces (RSF) uniforms. When he confronted them, they shot him, injuring his left leg. He is still undergoing treatment. The attack on his home was repeated the next day, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at around 11:30 PM, and his home was looted. The attackers were wearing RSF uniforms, and one of them claimed to be an intelligence commander in the RSF.
We condemn this crime and warn against targeting members and leaders of the Communist Party, political forces, and activists in resistance committees and services in areas controlled by both warring parties, aiming to settle political scores under the cover of the war.
We call for the broadest possible local and international solidarity to denounce this crime, protect civilians, political forces, union and resistance committee members, and service workers. We demand accountability for war criminals and urge continued mobilization to build the broadest grassroots popular front to stop the war and reclaim the revolution.
