Coca-Cola workers are on strike in Alberta and their Teamsters local as well as the Alberta Federation of Labour (AFL) are encouraging people to boycott the company's products until it is settled. That includes brands like Five Alive, Sprite, Minute Maid, Fresca, Nestea, Barq's and many others.

268 workers at the Coca-Cola Refreshments Calgary plant represented by Teamsters Local 987 are striking "for access to job security and protection from unnecessary third-party outsourcing as part of their collective agreement."
According to a press release by the local:
Plant workers have steadily been losing job hours to third-party contractors, reducing their ability to earn a suitable livelihood for themselves and their families. Coca-Cola’s actions are limiting employees’ ability to fulfill their hours on good paying jobs, creating an insecure and worrying work environment while some of their work is fulfilled by non-union contractors.
The affected union workers voted 94 per cent in favour of strike action on March 4. They are employed in warehouse, production, distribution and equipment service roles.
The strike is already causing supply issues for Coca-Cola products, but the local and the AFL are also asking for people to boycott the company's products in solidarity.
Coca-Cola Canada has many more brands than people probably realize.
