Cuba Salud 2025 was an essential meeting in the search for solutions to global health challenges, said Dr. Tania Margarita Cruz Hernández, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), on Friday, as she delivered the closing remarks at the Fifth International Convention.

The session was led by Susely Morfa González, a member of the Party's Central Committee and head of its Department of Social Sector Care, Deputy Prime Minister Eduardo Martínez Díaz, and Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda, the head of the department.

At the Havana Convention Center, Cruz Hernández emphasized the importance of the major event, which brought together nearly 6,000 professionals, leaders, guests, and experts from international organizations, and was notable for its promotion of fruitful and collaborative dialogue.

For five days, she stated, the Convention was the stage for innovative discussions and agreements aimed at strengthening health systems within South-South cooperation and promoting equity in access to health care and the advancement of biotechnology and medicine. She also referred to the 16th "Health for All" Trade Fair, which brought together more than 260 companies from 37 countries at Pabexpo, with the launch of revolutionary products and the signing of important international contracts.

For Dr. Ileana Morales Suárez, Director of Science and Technological Innovation at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), the conclave demonstrated Cuba's commitment to universal coverage and equity, under the "One Health" approach. Its implementation reaffirms the global commitment to universal health and sets strategic priorities in the face of current challenges, she stated.

She added that the meeting also leaves a message of unity and progress, as the discussions, proposals, and agreements reached will serve as the basis for future public health goals and policies for the benefit of the people.

According to the Executive Secretary of the Cuba Salud Conventions, these meetings highlighted the approaches to key topics such as personalized medicine, maternal and child health, medical education, nanotechnology, bionanomedicine, robotics, and artificial intelligence, as well as the holding of a new edition of the Medical Informatics Congress on the island.

Morales Suárez also mentioned the participation of rectors from prestigious universities, including representatives from the People's Republic of China, the guest of honor in 2025. She also spoke about the Publishing Houses Fair, which featured a wide range of medical publications, including the launch of 18 books by Cuban authors.

In her assessment, she included criteria regarding the importance of the interconnection between the events and the various international forums on Tourism, Health, and Wellness, held simultaneously, as initiatives that reflect Cuba's commitment to Public Health, sustainability, and international collaboration.
